As part of the XI International Oncosurgery Days, a comprehensive two-day pre-congress educational programme will be held on 20–21 January 2027. The programme will integrate advanced liver surgery, intraoperative ultrasonography (IOUS), and SYNAPSE 3D–based hepatopancreatobiliary imaging and surgical planning through complementary live surgery and hands-on educational formats.

The international faculty will include Professor Guido Torzilli, one of the world’s leading authorities and pioneers in ultrasound-guided liver surgery, parenchyma-sparing liver resection, and the R1 vascular approach. His participation will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to discuss these innovative techniques directly with one of the most experienced experts in the field and benefit from his extensive surgical experience.

The first day, hosted at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, will feature live surgical and educational sessions focusing on both open and robotic liver surgery. During the live procedures, the role of intraoperative ultrasonography in tumour detection, assessment of vascular anatomy, and determination of the optimal resection strategy will be demonstrated. The clinical application of SYNAPSE 3D–based preoperative imaging and surgical planning, together with its correlation with intraoperative ultrasonographic and surgical findings, will be discussed interactively. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore patient selection, surgical planning, technical differences, and decision-making for open and robotic approaches with the faculty.

The second day will take place at the Medtronic Innovation Center in Umraniye. Participants will receive hands-on training in laparoscopic and open liver surgery using porcine models, gain practical experience in intraoperative ultrasonography, and participate in an interactive SYNAPSE 3D workshop focusing on hepatopancreatobiliary imaging and preoperative surgical planning.

Through this complementary two-day programme, participants will observe the clinical application of these techniques during live surgery and subsequently consolidate their knowledge and technical skills through model-based hands-on training.

A certificate will be awarded to participants who attend the complete two-day educational programme.

Because of the practical and highly interactive nature of the programme, only a limited number of participants will be accepted. Colleagues wishing to advance their experience in liver surgery, intraoperative ultrasonography, robotic surgery, and three-dimensional surgical planning are strongly encouraged to apply and register early before all available places are filled.
